The Michigan AfterSchool Association Collaborative (MAAC) Fall Conference 2016 is a collaborative effort between the Michigan AfterSchool Association, the Michigan Department of Education and the Michigan After-School Partnership to provide out of school time professionals with quality professional development and training in the field. This conference draws 300 – 350 professionals from around the state of Michigan. The conference will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Westin Hotel in Southfield, MI.
Each presenter must complete and submit this Call for Presenters form. All presentations must be consistent with providing quality professional development to out-of-school time staff. Presentations should be developed that align with the National AfterSchool Association Core Knowledge and Competencies for Youth Development Professionals (for more information please visit http://naaweb.org/resources/core-compentencies). The MAAC Fall Conference final program format will be determined based the number and variety of proposals submitted. Presenters should plan to present 75 to 90 minute workshops.
Proposals will be accepted through July 25, 2016. The Conference Committee will review presentation proposals to ensure connections are made to after-school and out-of-school time programming. Selections will be made by August 10, 2016 at which time presenters will be notified of the status of their presentation proposal; and workshop length.
