MAA Fall Regional Workshop Series

Registration will begin at 8:45am-9:10am

Workshops will include:

Overview SEL 9:15am-10:45am (1.5 CTE) -Kirk Lowis
Introduce and align Social Emotional Learning for youth development. This will include hands on activities that can be used in Out-of-School Time (OST) programs.
Trauma Informed Care 11:00am-12:30pm (1.5 CTE) – Kirk Lowis
Involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. Trauma Informed Care (TIC) also emphasizes physical, psychological and emotional safety for both consumers and providers, and helps survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment.
• Envision Connections: YOUth + You 9:15am-12:30pm (1.5 CTE) – Gloria Sherman
Strengthen communication and relationships for youth and family. Provide external resources to supplement youth development.
YOUth Uprising 11:00am-12:30pm (1.5 CTE) -Gloria Sherman
Engaging relationships between adults and youth. Youth voice encompasses the opinions, perspectives, ideas, experiences and desires of young people. Authentic youth voice requires the respect of adults for the informed decisions made by youth.
