Reimbursement of Training Expenses

AARP Foundation will reimburse up to $2,000 of training expenses through:

  • Direct reimbursement, with a match for outside training
  • Wage subsidy for on-the-job training, if the employer commits to increased wages and responsibility upon successful completion.

Employee Matching Contribution

Employers must provide a minimum matching contribution for outside training, including:

  • One-half of training cost for employers with over 1,000 employees.
  • One-third of training cost for employers with 250-999 employees.
  • One-fifth of training cost for employers with less than 250 employees.
