We are excited to announce a new professional development opportunity for out-of-school time administrators to the MAAC Fall Conference 2016.

Are you a seasoned administrator?   Are you looking for something different?  The Administrators Only-Leadership Track will address what works and what doesn’t.  What do you have to offer colleagues?  Where do you hope to grow? Get on the “Leadership Track”…ride along and celebrate you and your team!  Join the Michigan Department of Education and the Michigan After-School Partnership team for the all of these special sessions.

Session I Workshop: YOU as a Leader

Celebrate your experience and expertise in the field by joining us to share with other seasoned professionals the tips and techniques that make YOU the high quality leader you are. Explore your leadership style. Learn about and share resources. Distinguish when to delegate and when to do it yourself!

Facilitators: Kate Porter, Quality Specialist, MASP; John Taylor and Rick Samulak, Consultants, Michigan Department of Education.

 

Lunch: The Art of Building Resilient Leaders

Developing resiliency as leaders is of utmost importance in our effectiveness and longevity. Key factors leading to increased resiliency is presented and discussed.

Facilitator: Dr. Robert Wertkin, Director of the School of Interdisciplinary Health Programs & Professor of Social Work, Western Michigan University.

 

Session II Workshop: The Three Amigos: MiSAYD, SA-QRIS, and EduPaths

Learn how these three acronyms are related to each other. You will become familiar with these important NEW Michigan quality systems that will guide your program to be the best it can be. Representatives from each of these three systems will provide an overview of each and the future of the OST/School-Age Care quality initiatives in the state.

Facilitators: Jordan Blough-Orr, Early Childhood Specialist, ECIC; Kim Garcia, EduPaths Instructional Content Designer – Genesee ISD; Aimee Phillips, Program Director, Genesee ISD.

Session III Workshop: Networking with Amigos

During this session YOU will guide the topics and the discussions with state level resource people on-hand to answer questions and hear your ideas. YOU generate the topics and rotate for discussion, networking and lots of resources to help YOU grow and learn.

Registration Note: When registering for the Administrator Track, participants will automatically be registered in all three Sessions listed above. Participants in the Administrator Track are required to attend all breakout sessions listed above.
